FESTIVAL DU BOIS, the Lower Mainland’s premiere celebration of francophone music, dance, craft, food, heritage and culture. March 3 & 4 daytime general admission is $4-$10 per day Known for being a showcase venue for some of the finest Québécois, francophone, world and folk music artists performing today, Festival du Bois is also a uniquely accessible and fun cultural, community and family event that offers a wealth of great activities and exhibits for folks of all ages and backgrounds. With music and dance at the core of the weekend’s presentations, festival audiences can also wander the site to sample maple taffy, tourtière and other culinary fare, learn about local settler history in a fun and interactive way, play games or shop at an array of unique artisan booths. This year, the festival has also added a workshop component, offering opportunities for audiences to delve deeper into the music and culture. Whether out-and-about the site, or under the roof of the massive Grand Chapiteau (Main Tent) or Petit Chapiteau (Kids’ Tent), the ambience is one of friendship, celebration and superb entertainment. This year’s featured list of music artists and groups includes Yves Lambert, Marco Calliari, Les Tireux D’Roches, Duane Andrews, Belzébuth, Galant tu perds ton temps and many others. |
