Requiem Flamenco: In Praise of the Earth
An explosive musical tribute to our stricken planet by world-renowned flamenco guitarist and composer Paco Peña. This powerful pairing of flamenco’s passion and fire with the vocal glory of Vancouver’s Chamber Choir addresses the collective responsibility of having damaged the fabric of life to the point where our actions may well prove cataclysmic. While the language of Peña’s requiem expresses his concerns for humankind, it also illuminates hope in the future, inspiring an urgency to act now to save our planet. April 6, 8 pm, Orpheum Theatre. Tickets: $35-$75 at ticketmaster.ca or 604-280-3311.
