What kind of stories do you publish?
We publish stories on personal, social, and global health for readers in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Our key words are sustainability, the environment, health, and personal growth. How do I submit a feature story?
We ask you to send a story query, not a finished article. We publish feature articles of 700 to 1,000 words. We are not responsible for unsolicited manuscripts and may not necessarily respond to them. Please include a brief bio, and email us at editor@shared-vision.com.

  • How long will it take to receive a response?
    Regrettably, the volume of queries may preclude an individual response. If you do not receive a response within six (6) weeks, it is best to submit your idea elsewhere. Mailed material requires a SASE for its return.
  • How much do you pay?
    Pay rates will be negotiated on assignment.

Do you accept simultaneous submissions?
No.

I’ve never written for a magazine before, but I am a natural health practitioner / feng shui consultant / yoga instructor / business person / counsellor and would like to write an article for you. How do I go about it?
SharedVISION seeks stories by published, experienced writers. We honour your experience in your field; if you are interested in being on our list of subject-area experts, please email editor@shared-vision.com and we will contact you if we want more information. If you are interested in becoming a writer, we suggest that you take a magazine writing course and/or work with a professional writer to learn the craft.

I’m a professional writer interested in assignments. What is the best way to contact you?
We occasionally need writers for EnVision, Visionaries, and feature articles. Send bio and clips to editor@shared-vision.com.

I’m a professional photographer interested in submitting my photos. What is the best way to go about this?
We are not currently looking for photographers, but feel free to send your bio and samples to editor@shared-vision.com. We will contact you if we want more information.


How do I get my event listed in the On Time calendar?
In order to be considered for calendar listings in our print publication, information must be submitted a minimum of four weeks in advance, by the 7th of each month (for example, events for the March issue must be submitted by February 7). Contact erica@shared-vision.com with details: event name, date, time, place, and description. If you are unable to meet this deadline, please note that you may post information about your event anytime using our online calendar. To ensure events are as accessible to everyone as possible, priority is given to local non-profit events under $35. For events with a ticket price of $35 and above, please contact our advertising department at 604-733-5062.

How do I get my product/service listed in EnVision?
Email editor@shared-vision.com with a brief description of the product or service that you offer. We will contact you if we need more information.

How do I nominate an SV Visionary?
Email visionaries@shared-vision.com with the person’s name, a brief (100-word max) description of who they are, and your relationship to them. Self-nominations are accepted. We will contact you if we need more information.

I am an advertiser in your magazine. Shouldn’t you publish my article?
