MOON VOID OF COURSE

The moon makes one complete revolution around the zodiac wheel each month, spending a little more than 24 hours in each of the 12 signs. When the moon is about to complete its visit through one sign and does not make any planetary connections (called aspects) before it moves on to the next sign, it is considered “Void of Course.” The moon’s influence or biorhythm is weak during these few hours, which can cause diminished success or satisfaction. If optimum results are your aim, wait until the moon fuels up in a new sign before you do it, buy it, or say it. Timing is everything!

Pause: (All times listed are PST)
February 2 2:21 pm to Feb. 3, 1:52 am (Moon moves into Capricorn)
February 4 10:20 am to Feb. 5, 11:10 am (Moon moves into Aquarius)
February 7 7:50 am to 5:46 pm (Moon moves into Pisces)
February 9 1:05 pm to 10:17 pm (Moon moves into Aries)
February 11 5:00 pm to Feb. 12, 1:34 am (Moon moves into Taurus)
February 13 9:05 pm to Feb. 14, 4:19 am (Moon moves into Gemini)
February 16 2:17 am to 7:11 am (Moon moves into Cancer)
February 17 1:13 pm to Feb. 18, 10:51 am (Moon moves into Leo)
February 20 9:53 am to 4:06 pm (Moon moves into Virgo)
February 22 6:15 pm to 11:45 pm (Moon moves into Libra)
February 25 5:35 am to 10:06 am (Moon moves into Scorpio)
February 27 6:54 am to 10:22 pm (Moon moves into Sagittarius)

February 6 Annular Solar Eclipse; New Moon: 7:44 pm 17:44 Aquarius
February 20 Total Lunar Eclipse; Full Moon: 5:35 am 1:54 Leo
February 17 Venus enters Aquarius 11:22 am

February 18 Mercury completes retrograde 6:57 pm; Sun enters Pisces 10:50 pm

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20–Feb. 18)
Whether you find yourself in hot pursuit of a fresh adventure or one simply finds you, the Solar Eclipse Feb. 6 sets dynamic wheels in motion. Impetuousness can get the better of you while Mercury is retrograde, but this may be one of those times when “too good to be true” could be worth going for.

PISCES (Feb. 19–March 20)
Watch for a surprising comment, an information leak or an unexpected tip; Mercury retrograde will clue you in to more than you knew before. Also, protect your computer, your health, and your personal belongings. The Lunar Eclipse Feb. 20 brings recognition, status made official, or a contract of note.

ARIES (March 21–April 19)
Get out there and strike a match. Mercury retrograde puts life into social overdrive. You are likely to cross paths with people you may not have expected to see again. The Solar Eclipse Feb. 6 brings a special event or connection; it can be the start of so much more.

TAURUS (April 20–May 20)
Get ready to jump into something new or totally unexpected. Thanks to the Solar Eclipse Feb. 6, life could veer off the beaten path—surprisingly so. Still, while Mercury continues retrograde (to Feb, 18) think temporary, choose a trial run, or leave room for an easy out.

GEMINI (May 21–June 20)
A delightfully opportune month lies ahead. Travel for business or pleasure, study a new language, attend a conference or concert, or win the election. Legal matters or publishing projects can move along a lot quicker too. Winner’s luck and beginner’s luck runs especially high for most of the month.

CANCER (June 22–July 22)
On a hunt? Use your connections, call in favours if you need to, and take advice to heart. Your stars show an abundance of helpful people and sound advisors. Even so, know that Mercury retrograde is best used to get yourself better informed; the Full Moon eclipse Feb. 20 can reveal even more.

LEO (July 23–Aug. 22)
The Solar Eclipse Feb. 6 is sure to produce a wild “anything-goes” week, especially if you are in an industry that caters to the public. Sales could skyrocket, and your social life or public profile is set to do the same. The month is prime: Cupid’s arrow could hit you hard at any time.

VIRGO (Aug. 23–Sept. 22)
You can be especially inconvenienced by Mercury retrograde; pay attention to early warning signals and have extra provisions, staff, or a Plan B in place. Back up the computer, double-check all paperwork, keep an eye on your vehicle’s performance, and don’t ingest anything suspect. The Lunar Eclipse brings you to an important finish line.

LIBRA (Sept. 23–Oct. 22)
Amazing things can happen; the Solar Eclipse could bring the exceptional to pass. Enjoy, but proceed with caution through the Mercury retrograde cycle, especially around Feb. 10 when you can be talked into just about anything. Flirtatious Venus in fun-loving Aquarius increases your popularity and romantic prospects.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23–Nov. 21)
Plans and projects can get complicated when Mercury’s in retrograde, so if you are going to tackle a do-it-yourself renovation or other repair job proceed with extra caution. Better yet, wait until after the Lunar Eclipse Feb. 20 to make it happen. Hosting an open house or selling your wares? Stay security-minded.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22–Dec. 21)
A lively social month kicks into overdrive as the Chinese Year of the Rat gets underway on Feb. 6. This is also the Solar Eclipse, so expect to be surprised by reunions, a spontaneous invitation or perhaps a new love interest. Great “ah-ha” moments keep your interest well-piqued. Entertainment expenses can climb!

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22–Jan. 19)
The Solar Eclipse (effective through the first half of the month) could put you smack dab in the right place and time; keep alert and available. The discovery of a new talent, capacity, ally, or collaborator can make your job go a lot easier. Rely on instincts and you’ll be saviour of the day.
