Tough-minded state prosecutor Vera Ngassa and Court President Beatrice Ntuba are working to help women in their Muslim village find the courage to fight often-difficult cases of abuse, despite pressures from family and their community to remain silent. With fierce compassion, they dispense wisdom, wisecracks and justice in fair measure—handing down stiff sentences to those convicted. Inspiring and uplifting, Sisters In Law presents a strong and positive view of African women—and captures the emerging spirit of courage, hope and the possibility of change.

Since our minds are always connected to our bodies and many physical conditions such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, depression and even cancer can result from being in a constant state of conflict, stress & unhappiness. Where conventional medicine simply treats disease with medications, naturopathic medicine treats the person by teaching how to improve their overall life. This includes the mind, the body, the heart and the soul. Knowledge is the first step towards making the changes necessary to ensure a happy and healthy life. This one hour lecture will provide you with the information and tools you need to make these changes happen.

Girl Inside Premieres on Knowledge Network Monday, March 31 at 9 pm Twenty-six-year-old Madison is in the process of becoming a girl and Vivien, her apple-martini-drinking 80-year-old glamorous grandmother, has taken on the job of advising her on all things feminine. While Vivien's attempts to school Madison in the mysterious codes of fashion and behaviour are often hilarious, her straight-up questions raise profound issues about the nature of gender and sexuality. Filmed over three years, Madison's gender metamorphosis unfolds as an emotional, intellectual and spiritual journey of self-discovery that is as important as the physical journey of hormones and surgery. Sometimes funny, sometimes painful, this sweet coming of age story is both a portrait and an exploration of what it means to be a woman.

Flight from Darkness Monday, April 7 at 9 pm Percy Paul began his journey in a remote Dene community in northern Saskatchewan, a place where far too often alcohol and violence were close at hand. Despite these circumstances, he excelled in school and sports, eventually proving himself a world class distance runner and gold medallist. Within a few short years, Percy found himself at Princeton, working alongside one of the world's leading authorities on string theory, black holes, and quantum field theory. But all this changed when he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He believes that the disorder allows him access, through manic states, into creative thought patterns. The curse is the resulting depressions that endanger his life.
