Canadian Douglas Schmidt, master bandoneon player and composer now residing in Germany, will join us direct from the International Tango Festival in Argentina. Also a guest is Europe's Kay Sleking, a renowned specialist in tango guitar. Douglas Schmidt and Laudate's own Bruce Sled will write new works for this exciting concert!!

Elektra Women's Choir: From the Heart
After 22 years of award-winning leadership and great musical friendship, Diane Loomer is stepping aside as co-conductor of Elektra and handing over the reins to co-conductor, Morna Edmundson. At the end of the 2008/2009 season Ms. Loomer will be appointed to the position of Conductor Emeritus of Elektra. Ms. Edmundson will be appointed Artistic Director of the ensemble. This transition will be honoured at From the Heart, a concert hosted by Shelagh Rogers on Sunday, May 31, 2009.

No Strings Attached is Chor Leoni’s salute to puppets old and new. It also gives the lions license to take puppets to places they’ve never been before! Come see Kermit meet Punch and Judy in the tent on the beach at sunset.
