Celebrate nature in the city with Evergreen’s 10th Annual Earth Day event on Saturday April 24 from 11am to 4pm. Together with Fido and Jericho Stewardship Group, this free, family-friendly event will feature workshops, nature walks, music, food and First Nations festivities, an exhibitor’s fair, as well as hands-on restoration efforts with the Jericho Stewardship Group and Evergreen. The free workshops will include simple home energy solutions, native plant tips for the home landscape, growing food in small spaces, and an introduction to backyard egg, honey and fish production. Bring your old phones and accessories to the Vancouver Earth Day Celebration and drop them in Fido’s Phones for Food donation box. They’ll be recycled and proceeds will benefit local community food banks. Arrive in style! Please consider walking, cycling, taking public transit or carpooling with your friends to the event. EVERGREEN is a national charity that makes cities more livable. For more information, call Evergreen at 604-689-0766. |
