VANCOUVER, BC – On Sunday March 9th 2008, the Take a Hike Youth at Risk Foundation will be hosting its second Take a Hike Snow Adventure Series event atop Mount Seymour. The Take a Hike Snow Adventure, a great day of snowshoeing and activities, is a fun way to help raise funds and awareness for at-risk youth issues affecting all communities in the lower mainland. There will be three route options for the snowshoe hike, a 9km, 8km and 4km hike, which will be divided into a running group, a moderate-paced group and a slower-paced one to accommodate all levels. All ages are welcome and families are encouraged to join us in the great outdoors!
The registration cost is a minimum donation of $45 for adults and $20 for children/youth under 16 (second child free!) The donation includes a snowshoe rental, a Mount Seymour pass, a guided snowshoe hike, prizes and a BBQ lunch. Sign-in at the yurt on Mount Seymour begins at 9:15am and the event will end around 12:30pm. Participants must register online at: www.takeahikefoundation.org/event.
