On Sunday, November 15, a group of five Tibetan monks are completing their week at the UBC Museum of Anthropology.

The final event begins with chanting at 10:30 am, followed by completion of a brightly-coloured sand mandala at 12:00 pm. At 2:00 pm, the monks will give a performance that includes chanting, monastic dance, and traditional Tibetan debate. A special ceremony to dismantle the sand mandala begins at 3:00 pm, when participants will walk to the water’s edge with the monks. Anyone interested will be given some blessing sand to take home, and the remainder will be released into the sea as a blessing for the world.
